Entertainment and Events

Bring virtual content into the real world. Our most popular type of content enables simple but powerful interplay between the physical and the digital.

Engage audiences with remarkable augmented content.

Zubr is one of the leading augmented reality studios in Bristol, having completed more than 15 AR projects since 2015. Augmented reality creates the illusion of eye-popping 3D content existing in the real world. Whether it’s to bring an interactive game onto the pavement, create a portal to another world on your bedroom wall, or make a musical performance pop up on a beer mat – augmentation offers a user-friendly and yet powerful experience..

Get playful tying 3D content to physical anchors

Quite the opposite to virtual reality, visceral physical objects and your surroundings can make an augmented experience all the more effective. Create a portal to the past by augmenting a reconstructed scene onto a real-life doorway. Or render an informative user interface around an artifact in a museum.

That doesn’t mean that all AR content needs to be tied to a physical image or object. The two biggest smartphone platforms are in fierce competition to create the most powerful markerless AR technology. This means now is a better time than ever to create augmented reality content that doesn’t require a tracker image.

Explore the potential of mixed reality and hybrid technologies

To take augmentation a step further, dedicated mixed reality head-mounted displays – such as the Microsoft Hololens – can be used to augment content in believable stereoscopic 3D.

Furthermore, there are times when AR and VR can work together seamlessly in the same piece of content. We are world leaders in creating hybrid AR/VR experiences for mobile devices; enthralling viewers with true 3D augmented content that comes to life before their eyes.

Technologies we use

Augmented reality has an advantage over virtual reality with how far it stretches into the consumer mass market, via smartphone platforms. Thus, Android and iOS devices are the primary formats for developing AR.

Through our hybrid AR/VR developments, we also make use of mobile VR headsets with camera passthrough, such as the Google Cardboard and Viewmaster.

We also develop with dedicated mixed reality devices, including the Microsoft Hololens and Stereolabs ZED mini.
